Our third official summer Pitt Hopkins UK day is taking place on Saturday August 8th in Wollaston from 12 pm to 5 pm. The venue details are:
Wollaston Baptist Church
9 Hinwick Road
Wollaston
Northamptonshire
NN29 7QX
It is a brand new fully accessible building and should be suitable to meet our needs. There is a good-sized kitchen with 3 cookers, microwave (and dishwasher!) So it will be ideal to have it as a bring and share lunchtime event, with the option to have hot food. There is a large foyer area off the kitchen and we have the option to spread out into the church sanctuary area which is connected with glass double doors. There is also a crèche area off the foyer which might be useful as a quiet space. There is a large disable toilet/wet room, with an adult size changing table – unfortunately, there isn’t a hoist.
Upstairs is accessible by lift or stairs, and has a large hall space with pool table, table tennis table, table football and space for other activities. There is also a comfy lounge upstairs where it’s hoped to set up a Wii. Upstairs also has a small kitchen area.
The church has a car park and an additional grass area, which we might be able to use to sit outside if it’s a nice day, or for additional car parking space. Extra parking is available on the streets around the church but it is a residential area
Arrive any time from 12, with an aim to eat at 1 pm, until 5 pm.
Please let us know if you are coming by emailing suerout@mac.com or use the contact form on this website. As we are all bringing food to share it doesn’t matter if you don’t know till the last moment if you can come but an idea of numbers will help us. If you can’t make it this time then call back here later and we hope to put up some photos of the day.
